Imperial Jubilee Fragrance by Clive Christian Smells Like Royalty

Photo Courtesy of Clive ChristianWhen luxury furniture designer Clive Christian purchased The Crown Perfumery in 1999, it seemed fitting that the maker of the world's most expensive furniture and home décor items would enjoy the sweet scent of success. Now Clive Christian has introduced a special edition of his No.1 Perfume, called Imperial Jubilee to celebrate sixty remarkable years of British Sovereign Queen Elizabeth II’s reign and to pay tribute to her Diamond Jubilee year.

Originally Clive Christian revived bespoke furniture in order to outfit a Victorian manor at a time when only modern furnishings were available. From there, Clive Christian has grown to be an international home design business.
In 1999, Clive Christian purchased the Crown Perfumery, which dates back to 1872, the reign of Queen Victoria and the only other British monarch to celebrate a Diamond Jubilee.

According to Victoria Christian, brand ambassador for Clive Christian Perfumes, “Only one other British Monarch in history, Queen Victoria, has reigned for 60 years or more. The perfumery that my father, Clive, revived was originally acknowledged by Queen Victoria in 1872 when she granted the image of her crown as a mark of British excellence.” 

Since Clive Christian's purchase of the Crown Perfumery, he has released scents inspired by the original fragrances of the house. In an interview with BaseNotes.net, Victoria Christian explains her father's intentions by purchasing the esteemed house, "Therefore my father sought to revive the original values of the house – outstanding levels of quality and workmanship resulting in a resounding representative of British Luxury."

Unlike the original No. 1 perfume, the royal edition has a higher concentration, making it richer. The bottle is placed in a red velvet lined presentation case. On the bottle itself is an image of the red ribbon which holds the official OBE medal granted by Her Majesty the Queen to Clive Christian in her 2012 New Year’s Honours list for his contribution as a designer to the luxury goods industry.

Only 500 of these limited edition perfumes will be created; 250 for men and 250 for women and they will retail for $1,300 (50ml) each at prestige retailers such as Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman and Saks.
