New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin watches his team warm up
before the first half of an NFL preseason football game against the Jacksonville
Jaguars Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, in Jacksonville, Fla.

Tom
Coughlin isn’t happy and it sounds like Jason Pierre-Paul and Steve Weatherford,
at the minimum, have some explaining to
do.
A
video Weatherford took and then posted to the World Wide Web shows Pierre-Paul
in what can only be described as a hazing incident, carry teammate Prince
Amukamara through the team’s facility and ultimately dumping him in a cold tub.
You
can see video of the incident here and be warned it includes plenty of
profanity.
“I’m
going to look into it. I’m going to talk to the parties involved,” Coughlin said during conference call today,
according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News. “As I’m understanding
it, there were some parts of it that were inappropriate. In no way is anything
that occurs within this family or group, should that be a part of any kind of
social media. So I’m going to address that thoroughly. I’ve spent a little time
on that this preseason. So I’ll look
into it further.”
Teammates
were razzing Amukamara throughout the video and urged him to stand up for
himself after he was dumped into the tip. Of course, the 6-5, 278-pound
Pierre-Paul is a much larger man.
Pierre-Paul
taunts him when the stunt is over and Amukamara was clearly less than thrilled.
What prompted Weatherford to post the video on the Internet is unknown. Now,
everyone involved had best provide some compelling answers for Coughlin, who
seems just as upset the video was allowed to go viral as he is that the incident
happened.
